Hi, Annebel here! So my youngest sister got married in April this year and I am still in a bit of denial. Mainly because she is my little sis who grew up too fast but also because the whole planning process happened in only 4 months!!

Now I am totally not complaining about planning a wedding in 4 months, it was an absolute blast! Why? Cause this couple knew what they wanted! They are two trendy “kids” so the creative process was interesting and fun. In our first meeting they already knew what type of venue they were looking for, and they had two possible themes prepared that included colour schemes and Pinterest boards. Oh and budget! It was not over the top but just enough for each element of the wedding to be unique and special. Big bonus is that they didn’t sweat the small stuff, this made planning SO much easier.

So here is how the day went down!
We found the perfect venue i.e. Moonshot Cafe that ticked all their boxes. Modern, industrial, centrally located, new, uncomplicated and different to the norm. They invited 100 guests to their #jazzinthejungle soiree and invites were sent out electronically. Guests could RSVP and check wedding details on their very theme appropriate wedding website that the groom designed…bonus! The ceremony was held on the deck area at Moonshot Cafe and guests were greeted by buckets of candy floss in awesome flavours like pumpkin spice, peanut butter, cream soda, turkish delight and coffee. As the couple had their first kiss (might I add….ever) they were tossed with red rose petals from their super excited entourage. The guests adjourned to some delicious canap├ęs, and they got to take some pics with the newlyweds in the photobooth as souvenirs.

When planning the timeline for the wedding I was a bit concerned regarding photo opportunities for the couples shoot. As always you are battling the sunset, and being in the middle of Menlyn’s corporate area the options were few…in my mind. But that is why I am not a photographer and luckily this couple had a great one. Anandi worked her magic and the photo’s are just stunning, most were taken around the King Price building and Menlyn Time Square, check them out below.

For the guest tables the decor alternated, the main thread being black vases with tropical greens and mustard yellow flowers for a pop of colour and large glass bottle vases with single stems. Candlelight in our opinion is always a must, it adds ambience to any celebration. We played with a variety of candles, black dinner candles in gold candlesticks, grey pillar candles on glass coasters and tealights in crystal votives.

The speeches flowed, the food was delicious and the dancefloor was booming short after the couple opened it to the classic “Kiss Me” from Sixpence none the richer. All in all it was a very successful and beautiful #jazzinthejungle celebration for a very special couple!
